The Thorens TD 1500 is a tribute to the legendary TD 150, combining classic technology with modern innovations. This purely manual turntable features a sprung sub-chassis that decouples the platter and tonearm board from the motor and plinth using three conical springs, ensuring exceptional sonic stability. These springs are adjustable from above via corresponding holes in the platter, significantly simplifying precise alignment.

The speed of the DC motor is electronically monitored by an incremental encoder, and deviations, for example caused by a sweeping brush, are automatically corrected. This ensures excellent wow and flutter. A truly unique feature in this class is that the TD 1500 offers XLR outputs in addition to the usual RCA jacks, enabling true balanced operation when used with a compatible MC cartridge.

NEWLY DEVELOPED TONEARM THORENS TP 150

The new TP 150 tonearm is similar to the TP 124 used on the TD 124 DD turntable. It has an effective mass of 14 grams, is adjustable for height and azimuth, and features a standard SME mount, allowing for easy headshell changes or cartridge upgrades. Antiskating is adjusted via a sliding weight in the arm base, which is adjusted by a nylon thread running over a ruby bearing.
