The THORENS TD 204 was developed for the audiophile beginner. A turntable with sonic expansion potential for the up-and-coming enthusiast.
The "black high-gloss" and "walnut high-gloss" surface finishes, with their typical Thorens design, blend seamlessly into the existing product range. The brand identity is underscored by the high-quality workmanship and guarantees a long service life for all Thorens turntables.
The newly developed TP 120 tonearm impresses with its high-quality bearing technology. Bearing play and friction coefficients have been reduced to an astonishingly low level for its price range thanks to the use of modern bearings. The TP 120 is a true 9" aluminum J-shaped tonearm with an effective tonearm mass of just over 15 grams. Its visual similarity to the larger TP 150 and TP 124 models is unmistakable and suggests first-class performance.
The detachable headshell with SME connector is fitted with an AT95E cartridge from the Japanese cartridge specialist Audio Technica. Skating compensation is achieved via a spring.
The rear panel features high-quality RCA jacks for a reliable connection to the amplifier. An integrated (switchable) phono preamp allows for direct connection to a line-level input.
The precision-machined aluminum die-cast platter is set in motion by a precision-ground drive belt. The plinth of the TD 204 rests on four vibration-damping feet.
